Red Sky Ride

Fundraising

Here are some tips that may help you

So you’ve registered, started a team or perhaps been recruited to join an existing team.
- Now for the fundraising!

Give to Yourself

The best way to encourage others to give is to show them that you've donated to your own efforts first. Make a kick-off donation!

Rally Your Team

Create a fun team uniform. It's a great excuse to talk to people about the event, the cause and why you are riding.

100% Benefit

100% of all the donations you receive will go to support WA cancer patients and their carers. Make sure to share this with your supporters!

Tax Deductable

All donations over $2 are tax deductable and receipts will be issued on request.

Social Media

You'll be surprised at the support you'll receive from a Facebook post, Tweet or Instagram photo, maybe even post a YouTube video of your team in action.

Make it Personal

Tell YOUR story about why you are riding. The more personal you make it, the more people will relate—Cancer touches many lives and you may be surprised at who might thank you for this opportunity to make an impact

Ask!

You don't get what you don't ask for, so make sure you are asking! Donations don't always come from where you expect them, so cast a wide net and make each ask personal!

Say Thanks

Say thanks and keep your supporters updated on your progress. Encourage them to come along to training sessions and give you some encouragement in person!

Double Your Impact

Matching gifts are a great way to double your impact! Many employers support workplace giving so check with your Human Resources department to see if they'll match your fundraising.

Special Events

Celebrating a special event? Ask for a donation to your Red Sky Ride tally to celebrate your birthday, anniversary or any other special occasion. Maybe even ask your supporters to give an amount of the year you’re celebrating!

Solaris Cancer Care can provide brochures, collection tins, banners, receipt books and guidance for your fundraising event. The hall and kitchen at our Cottesloe centre are available free of charge for your use – perhaps a quiz night. Contact the RSR coordinator for details.
