What is your motivation for taking part in the SolarisCare Red Sky Ride?
Keep fitness up, have a target, looking forward to something in the future whilst training.
What made you take up cycling?
Enjoy being outdoors, good for mental health.
I am Felix. I have been cycling socially and for recreation for about 5 years. It all started with watching my partner’s mountain bike in the garage to realise how beautiful the sport is. Not having owned a car in my life I decided to take on cycling to have more freedom on the way I move around. Through the years I have moved from cycling along the beach on the weekends to commuting to work with a folding bike to ride to the train station and catch the train getting around the full bike restriction during busy hour imposed by TransPerth. In the last year I have been training on the bike improving my cycling skills, fitness and mental health.
With all the benefits I have experienced with the sport I would like to give something back and the best way in my opinion is helping people who need support. There is no better way than riding 4 days cycling 500 Km through our beautiful state to help Solaris with a wonderful cause.
